Big Morgan CEO says he has respect for cryptocurrencies, in contrast to Little Morgan CEO

Jane Fraser, CEO of Citi (C.US), made similar remarks this week. She said, "I'm more interested in the technology behind certain crypto products than the products themselves."

In September, Morgan Stanley announced that Sheena Shah would lead the newly formed cryptocurrency research and development team. Gorman added during the earnings call that Morgan Stanley will not trade cryptocurrencies for retail investors, but will instead give retail clients access to buy cryptocurrencies through multiple types of funding. "Honestly, there's not a lot of demand from clients on that front right now, and that could change, and we'll adjust with it when it does, and we'll keep an eye on this and wait and see how the regulators will handle it."
