The wind is blowing! Cryptocurrency surges 1,300% this year, up far more than Bitcoin, Ethereum

2021 could be called a year of cottage coin (Altcoin) frenzy, with many cottage coins outpacing older cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ether. Analysts believe this trend will continue in the next year.

Among the top three global cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, BNB, a token issued by cryptocurrency exchange Binance, has had a significantly better year than its other two competitors, Bitcoin and Ether.

According to Arcane Research, BNB is up about 1,300 percent this year, compared with a 65 percent gain for bitcoin and a 408 percent gain for ethereum over the same period.
