Digihost Is the First Publicly Traded Miner to Pay Bitcoin Dividends
Beginning in the third quarter of this year, Digihost (DGHI) became the first publicly traded cryptocurrency miner to offer shareholders the option to receive a dividend payment in Bitcoin (BTC).
In the third quarter of 2022, the company will pay a dividend equal to 10 percent of its net income. Shareholders will be able to receive payments in bitcoin or cash, the miner said in a statement on Monday.
Digihost's remaining net income will be reinvested to meet the company's future needs and prospects.
"The Digihost Board of Directors is pleased to announce our decision to become the first public company in the crypto mining sector to implement a dividend policy of paying shareholders in BTC," CEO and Chairman Michel Amar said in a statement.
