Goldman Sachs to launch over-the-counter ethereum options trading

By    13 Apr,2022

According to the CEO, the bank's institutional clients are increasingly interested in the digital asset market. According to clients, George Lewin-Smith, who works in Goldman Sachs' digital assets team, said that Ether has become "more of an investable asset class.

As a result, Goldman decided to take a chance on introducing options trading, with bitcoin as the first example last month.

OTC bitcoin options trading became possible after Goldman Sachs partnered with Galaxy Digital. However, the Bloomberg report does not specify whether this will be the case with OTC ETH options.

The bank chief also said that the upcoming merger - an event in which the ethereum blockchain will move from proof of work to proof of stake - has contributed to increased customer demand.

Last year, Goldman Sachs predicted the second largest digital asset would reach $8,000 by the end of the year.

It's worth noting that Goldman Sachs was, until recently, one of the most outspoken critics of cryptocurrencies, but is now one of several Wall Street giants to change its tune.
