Ether hash rates reach all-time high as miners scramble to mint ETH ahead of merger

By    14 Apr,2022

As the Ether community prepares for the merger and the protocol moves toward completion of proof-of-stake (PoS), the network's hash rate reached an all-time high (ATH) on April 7, 2022. On Thursday, Ether's hash rate peaked at 1.131 petahash per second (PH/s), an increase of 13 percent in 89 days.

Since the first week of January, Ether's arithmetic power has grown by 13%.

The merger is planned to transform the Ether blockchain into a full proof-of-stake (PoS) network this year. It is uncertain how easily this transformation will happen, so Ether (ETH) miners are currently minting blocks as fast as possible.

According to three months of arithmetic data from coinwarz.com, Ether's arithmetic peaked at 1.131 petahash per second (PH/s) on April 7, 2022. On January 9, 2022, Ether's network hash rate exceeded 1.032 PH/s. This represents a 13% increase in network-wide arithmetic power in the two months it took to acquire a single petahash.
