Users of cryptocurrency who use Windows should be aware of a new critical Microsoft vulnerability

Users who use the Microsoft Cloud-Delivered Protection Service are secure; nonetheless, the researchers advocate disabling the MSDT URL Protocol as a solution to prevent troubleshooters from launching as links.

Wallet Guard also recommended that users of Microsoft Defender’s Attack Surface Reduction (ASR) enable the “Block all Office Applications from generating child processes” option in “Block mode” to stay safe.

The researchers advised against blindly downloading.doc,.docx, and.rtf files, instead opting for PDF documents and alternative solutions such as Google Docs.

Furthermore, the threat was recognised by the US government via the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).

The discovery of the vulnerability comes after a recent research stated that overall Microsoft malware in 2021 fell by 5% to 1,212 from 1,268 in 2020.
