China's Supreme People's Court Announces New Judicial Interpretation: Severe Punishment for Illegal Fund Raising Crimes in Virtual Coin Trading, Pensions

On February 24, the Supreme People's Court of China issued the Decision on Amending the Interpretation of the Supreme People's Court on Several Issues Concerning the Specific Application of Law in Criminal Cases of Illegal Fund Raising. On the basis of the original provisions, the revised Interpretation combines new judicial practices and new forms of crimes, and adds new types of illegal fund-raising behaviors such as network lending, virtual coin trading and financial leasing to the eighth and ninth items of the article respectively.
